Bush in Egypt for Middle-East meeting

US President George Bush has arrived in Egypt to talk to assembled Arab leaders about Middle East peace.
President Bush has already spoken to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and will also hold meetings with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas and Jordan's King Abdullah.
Minister of Defence, Ehud Barak has been sent from Israel.
President Bush wants a peace agreement to be reached before the end of his term in office in January.
President Bush is currently on a tour of the Middle East where his initial stop was Israel, where he attended the 60th anniversary celebrations.

Bush bullshitting in ME ?Bush the Peacemaker.. or the Pace-setter (?) for Mc Cain or similar likes after Bush fades away as president towards the end of the year..running around the Middle East giving polite threats to the Saudis and polite disagreement with Mubarak’s opinion on how to solve the ME catastrophe . all told a bloody good round journey bloated with hypocrital statements and make believe stories for the ME listeners telling them of the evil designs of their neighbours and ofcourse confusing the ME into another year of becoming target practice ground for the Zionists to try and test the latest modern and unmanned ( you see they are the scared lot now!)weapons of destruction no doubt manufactured and supplied by the US corporate giants ( you know who ..lah !). oh Mr Jesus we also have similar if not better quotes in our Holy Quran but I donot wish to be evangelical here..you can carry on..i am sure there are many deaf ears around ! |

Should encourage all Attempts for PeaceRegardless of who, any attempt to discuss peace is good.. Ultimately it is about action or what we do about the talking.. Bush, does not live in the middle east and it really is up to the people of the middle east to put down the guns and rockets and then stop killing each other.. You may have to look at who is shooting in Iraq, Suddan and Lebbanon? Need to take responsibility for your own home.. Blessed are the peacemakers |

President Bush tried to lift the cloud of gloom over Mideast peace talks. Yet his five-day trip to the region ended with Palestinians more pessimistic and complaining that the U.S. favors Israel in the difficult negotiations. In a speech Sunday, Bush took a strikingly tougher tone with Arab nations than he did with Israel in an address to the Knesset on Thursday. Israel won effusive praise; Arab nations heard a litany of U.S. criticisms mixed with some compliments.
“Too often in the Middle East, politics has consisted of one leader in power and the opposition in jail," Mr. Bush told 1,500 global policymakers and business leaders at this Red Sea beach resort. That was a clear reference to host Egypt, where main secular opposition figure Ayman Nour has been jailed and President Hosni Mubarak has led an authoritarian government since 1981.
“America is deeply concerned about the plight of political prisoners in this region, as well as democratic activists who are intimidated or repressed, newspapers and civil society organizations that are shut down and dissidents whose voices are stifled," Bush said. “I call on all nations in this region to release their prisoners of conscience, open up their political debate and trust their people to chart their future," Mr. Bush said.
