Austrian incest daughter to appear on television
Bangladesh Sun Tuesday 20th May, 2008
Austrian incest victim Elisabeth Fritzl, held captive and sexually abused by her father for 24 years, is set to give her first televised interview revealing details of her cellar nightmare.
Elisabeth, 42, has reportedly chosen ORF TV in her homeland to make the revelation.
The interview has been organized in part to reduce the pressure on the family from media camped at the door of their hospital.
There is increasing tension between authorities and paparazzi who know that a picture of Elisabeth or her children would be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Elisabeth will reportedly receive no money for her television appearance but will stand to make millions of pounds in syndicated rights around the world as upwards of 300 stations globally will pay to beam it live or pay for resale rights.
Media in Austria said none of the children, either the three she gave birth to who lived upstairs, or the two of the three healthy offspring forced to endure captivity in a cellar, will be in the studio with her.
Elisabeth is expected to talk about the first time she was raped by her father Josef, 73, how she coped with giving birth in the damp cellar, what she felt when her stillborn child was burned in a stove by her father, how she thought she would never see sunlight again and her hopes for a more normal future with her children.
ORF will not deny or confirm the interview, saying only that it has been in "strong negotiations" with Elisabeth's lawyer.
It is understood that the family insisted the first talk should go to a domestic Austrian TV station.

Compensation against animal fatherI wonder why Elizabeth has not decided to claim compensation against her animal father. That really shows her weakness at this point. She may be a good mother, but if she is doubtful of father’s canibalism, her sop called “goodness” is in question! If Elisabeth does not claim for any such compensation, paerhaps her children may tend to do the same. If Elisabeth is a role model to her children, it is “show and tell time." So, go for it. |

| My hope is that Elizabeth’s interview will in no way compromise the criminal case. I have been praying for her and her family. I am Canadian and have been watching the developments. |

help for othersWhat a great idea for Elizabeth to talk on-air about her abuse. This will not be easy for her but I feel that she can help other girls / women by shedding light on signs to watch out for & who to tell about incestuous abuse. This can also aid in her recovery. |
